I have been getting prepared vegan meals for about five years now. FireRoad is probably the fourth or fifth one, and it is by far the best for more reasons than I could have expected. The variety of dishes is broad; the portion size is heftier than other services but not necessarily more caloric; the meals so far are excellent -- very flavorful unlike other services' bland ones; the food is fresher, much to my surprise. I say much to my surprise because I was skeptical of them arriving frozen but they are not like frozen foods you find in the supermarket but more like someone makes you a great homemade dish and you freeze the leftovers so they are still really fresh.
There are added benefits of the meals being shipped frozen. With the other meal services, they are shipped with ice/gel packs. On several occasions the meals would arrive warm or the ice bags burst making a huge mess in the box Even if the ice packs don't burst, disposing of them is a huge hassle and one of my least favorite things to do. There is far less packaging overall (including smaller boxes) to deal with as well.
And the flexibility for ordering is excellent, you can expedite deliveries or delay them as opposed to being stuck with one fixed date. And for your subscription they populate your new order with your previous order selections, which I wish the other service had done. I would have to change the items for every order. You would think their system could figure out it was more convenient to populate with what a customer usually orders.
Customer service is also excellent. I got a bit confused about the shipping dates and was going to miss a week, and reached out to customer service after hours. They got back to me within an hour letting me know how to trigger expedited delivery of my next box!
I can't tell you how glad I am to have found them. Hubby and I together order about 13 meals a week and had grown really tired of the other services (we ordered from two companies). One kept changing items and getting rid of everything hubby liked and the one I used never changed meals and it had gotten boring. FireRoad has such great variety and choices that I can't imagine getting tired of them! (Although hopefully they will occasionally introduce some new dishes.)
I'm so glad I found Fireroad this year- shout-out to VegOut Magazine! I joined in January 2026 and have loved all my meals. I've been vegan for 6 years and have been weight/strength training for 3 years. Fireroad has helped me so much in reaching my fitness goals. Since January, I've been eating one Fireroad meal a day (Monday-Friday), which has helped me lose 9lbs in 7 months. Since I started Fireroad, I've been getting more compliments on my muscles and am able to lift heavier and have hit many new PR's in the last few months. My husband, who is not vegan, also eats Fireroad and loves his meals too. I just wish there were more menu items to choose from. Definitely recommend to vegan and non vegans!
I have been a vegan for over 17 years and have tried several meal delivery companies but wasn't able to find one that I liked. I read about FireRoad a few years ago and was very excited to try the meals but at that time, shipping to CA wasn't an option. Wow, I was so happy when I discovered that now it is possible to get meals to CA. I have the say the meals are delicious. I am a long time weight lifter and love the higher protein these meals have. Thank you for expanding your delivery to CA. I will become a customer for all my future meal delivery.
Great nonmeat meals that were well prepared and stayed frozen during transit. Even though they were delivered on a swelteringly hot day!
i was a bit skeptical when first buying this but as a busy high performing vegetarian who is highly active and strives for at least 150g of protein a day, this was the only service on the market. i am blown away by the flavors, and how clean it is. I was expecting lack of flavor, high salt taste. Anything but. I will continue to buy this as my daily lunch!
Finding tasty vegan meals is challenging enough, however finding tasty vegan meals that are also high protein.....well that has been nearly impossible. I was searcing high and low for a meal service that met these goals. I am thrilled that I stumbled across Fireroad. They have been the mainstay of my lunch prep for the past month.

The most delicious vegan food I've ever had. It tastes so real I had to double check the ingredients!
I couldn't believe there were vegetarian keto meals. These are the only prepared meals I eat. They are healthy, satisfying and have a nice combination of flavors. I also love that each meal is 2 servings which can help out in a pinch for lunch the next day. My wife is neither vegetarian nor keto, but I have to stop her from eating my fire road meals.
