As empty nesters trying to find more time for the gym and other activities after work while also eating plant based, FireRoad has been working great for us. We love the harvest bowls and Pizzas as well as the other meals we have tried. We are only focusing on dinners but we do absolutely love the meal bars!
I have a history of Chronic Kidney Disease and Hypertension. My blood pressure is under control with medication but my kidneys require a plant based, low protein, low sodium diet and I wish Fire Road had that.
I have eaten some of your meals and found them quite delicious even cutting them in half so I wouldn’t get too much protein or sodium.
Finally, convenient prepared plant-based meals that I can’t find in Whole Foods/Sprouts. Some are a bit spicy so I add guacamole or coconut milk to tame them a bit. Nice selection of meals and a few delicious, unique healthy granola choices.
So happy I found Fire Road. I have tried countless plant-based meals over the years. This one delivers! The meals look good AND they taste good. Meals from other providers were tasteless and expensive. I don't mind paying for the convenience as long as there is a variety of delicious meals. So excited to stumble upon Fire Road while doom scrolling at 2 a.m. (yes, really) In addition, FireRoad allows you to order meals without committing to signing up from the get go. I hate that others make you enter in CC information and then automatically sign you up for subscriptions that you don't want (that oftentimes are painful to cancel) Overall the experience has been amazing.
I ordered the "Lean Pack" along with a few extras.
I think the best value comes in the meals, my personal favorites were the shawarma and (to my surprise) the Tex Mex Scramble. These meals were very tasty and filling. Love that I can just keep them in the fridge, zap them for five minutes, and then I have a delicious protein filled meal that I actually look forward to eating.
While the taste for the smoothies and overnight oats was good, it is hard to justify the cost for what you get. They just don't feel substantial at all, and it seems the main ingredient for the smoothies is banana so you are paying $7 for a bunch of mashed up frozen banana.
Of course, you aren't just paying for the food, you are paying for the convenience. But making a smoothie or overnight oats is a pretty simple process. I find it doesn't take me much time to throw some kale, frozen fruit, and protein powder into a blender and I can make something much more substantial for much less per serving.
If I was to renew my subscription I would definitely pack it full of their savory meals.
I tried the Fireroad X line and really liked it. The only caveat I'd have to add is the request for more veggies and fewer "Chicken", "Steak" or tofu. It's almost all protein which may be the idea but I think it would be more satisfying if you upped the veggies. More balanced. Otherwise the love the it. It's almost impossible to find something that works for a vegetarian diabetic like myself.
So far, loving every meal! Every one has been great tasting, and get 2-3 meals per container. Great taste and value.
